  • Q: How to disconnect and remove the alternator on 1984 Audi 4000?
    A: Disconnect the battery negative lead, then loosen the alternator adjustment nuts or bolts and swivel the alternator toward the engine. Slip the drivebelt from the pulley and note the wiring location before disconnecting it. Remove the link bolt and pivot bolt, then withdraw the alternator from the engine.
