If applicable for a 4-cylinder engine, remove the transmission and insert the flywheel retainer, special tool 3067 or equivalent into the cylinder block hole. Before the separation, mark the installation position of the dual-mass flywheel with an ink marker. The bolt pattern may include one misaligned hole to allow for installation in the same position as removal. By hand only, remove the eight flywheel mounting bolts so as not to damage the dual-mass flywheel, ensuring the bolt heads do not touch the flywheel. Centre bolts in holes when rotating dual-mass flywheel in clockwise direction. For a 6 cylinder engine remove the transmission and lock the crankshaft from the pulley end with counterholder T10069 or equivalent. Prior to removal, use a felt-tip marker to mark the fitted location of the dual-mass flywheel. Then remove the flywheel mounting bolts only by hand so that the bolt heads do not touch the dual-mass flywheel. Align the bolts in the holes of the dual-mass flywheel by rotating it. Installation involves the opposite process of removal while using new mounting bolts.
