Audi S4 Intake Manifold
The Audi S4 Intake Manifold directs an ideal flow of oxygen to each engine cylinder to provide the engine with quick throttle response and smoothness in its daily operations. Constructed of lightweight composite instead of heavy metal, this Intake Manifold sheds pounds off the nose and in the process keeps the incoming charge cooler and is resistant to heat buildup during spirited driving. It fits directly to B5, B6 and B9 S4 models, demonstrating how easy it is to fit across several generations of Audi performance sedan with only minor adaptations performed, and with the same geometry of the runner being compatible with both the twin-turbo V6 and the highly recent model, a single-turbo V6. Over the decades Audi has perfected airflow speed, swirl and Helmholtz resonance such that the reliable Intake Manifold stuffs each combustion chamber with thick oxygen, and the computer uses the remaining fuel to produce cleaner explosions, higher torque, reduced emissions and a long life cycle. On some V layouts, a two-piece design is added which is applied as a valley cover, and high-strength gaskets are applied to seal the oil and coolant to protect the catalytic converters and keep the occupants away from fumes which are toxic. In other editions coolant passages and sensor bosses are incorporated which provide real-time temperature and pressure information that can be applied by safety systems to take immediate corrective action in case values fall out of range. The optional variable-length option makes runners shorter at high rpm to add extra horsepower and then longer at cruising speeds to provide quiet, fuel-efficient torque, a crafty two-sided personality that makes the Intake Manifold an outstanding component in the performance parts market.
