The batteries are situated on the left hand side of the engine compartment and in case an insulator cover is installed, it must be removed and then the literacy can be accessed. To gain easier access, the engine top cover or air filter may be taken out. The fuse holder plastic cover can be unlocked by squeezing the locking lugs to release it should it be necessary to reconnect the batteries positive (+) process and fuse holder connections. One should ensure that the terminals of the batteries are firmly clamped and that there is no corrosion in all the fuse holder connections. Remember to have the right procedure of disconnecting the batteries before disconnecting the terminals to the batteries. Besides, look into the batteries casing whether it has any damage, or cracking, and confirm that the batteries retaining clamp bolt is firmly tightened; in case the casing is damaged, the batteries will have to be replaced. Unless a sealed-for-life maintenance-free batteries is fitted to the vehicle, test the level of electrolyte by making sure that it stays between the MAX and MIN label on the batteries casing. Should topping up be required, lift off the batteries in the vehicle, lift off the cell caps or cover where necessary and fill it by pouring distilled water until each of the cells reaches the MAX level mark and then refit the cell caps or the cover. Once the checks have been completed, be sure to carefully screw the cover back into the fuse holder and the insulator cover in case it was installed.
