How to disconnect the negative battery cable and replace the third brake light bulb in sedan on Audi A6?

Disconnect the negative (-) battery cable and cover the battery terminal to prevent accidental contact. Loosen the center brake light from the tabs in the trunk and pull it out from the metal cut-out toward the bottom of the trunk. Detach the electrical connection and remove the bulb holder from the trunk. Carefully lever off the plastic cover from the bulb carrier and replace the bulbs as necessary. Installation is the reverse of removal.
