Audi A6 Door Lock

The Door Lock prevents entry to the Audi A6 unless released intentionally and secures the door. This part has a latch at the edge of the door that grips a jamb mounted striker on door close. Further, a clasp stays engaged until the releasing device is activated. A key lock cylinder and an inside knob are attached to the latch by linkage rods so that turning the key or lifting the knob allows the outside handle to operate the door. When the knob is depressed or the key is in the lock position, the outside handle is inhibited, keeping the door closed. Modern cars use an electric actuator to move the same latch. This motor receives energy through a switch or body control module and commands all locks when pressed once at the driver position. A Door Lock switch makes it easier to operate by installing the switch on one knob. Remote keyless entry sends a signal from a key fob to a receiver via radio waves. One button locks the Audi doors and the other unlocks them, often so the first press will unlock only the A6 side. A double press confirmation can hoot the horn to indicate that the vehicle door is shut. Certain systems incorporate an automatic locking feature that occurs when the transmission is put in Drive or a certain speed, and then unlocks when changed to Park.     How to remove and install a Door Lock on Audi A6?
    A:
    Take off the door trim panel to run-up the door window at the top position and unhook the harness connector for the central locking at the door lock. To remove the door lock, disengage the operating rod and take off the combination bolts to pull the lock downwards, between the door component carrier and front door shell. For installation, reverse in process. However, during door lock installation, take support of fulcrum lever clip to release the operating rod and take support of sliding sleeve to release it for new door lock installation.
