Remove the sump, then use an Allen key to unscrew the bolts and detach the suction pipe from the oil pump, also removing the O-ring seal. Next, unscrew and take out the large oil pump mounting bolts to withdraw the pump from the block. Unscrew the two bolts to lift off the cover, which includes the pressure relief valve. Clean all components and inspect them for wear and damage. Check the backlash between the gears with a feeler blade and compare it to the specified limits, also checking the endfloat of the gears using a straight edge across the end face of the pump; if measurements are outside the specified limits, replace the pump, otherwise refit the cover and tighten the bolts. Prime the pump with oil by immersing it in oil and turning the driveshaft. Clean the contact faces, fit the oil pump to the block, insert the mounting bolts, and tighten them to the specified torque. Place a new O-ring seal on the end of the suction tube, attach the tube to the oil pump, insert the bolts, and tighten them to the specified torque before refitting the sump.
