To remove a bulb on UK models, open the bonnet and take off the plug and rubber cap from the rear of the headlight. Next, press and twist the retaining ring or unhook the clip to remove the headlamp bulb, ensuring not to touch the glass if it is to be reused. For Saloon models, take off the surround and front grille, disconnect the direction indicator wiring, loosen the front bumper mounting bolts, and press the bumper down as far as possible. Remove the side lamp bulb (if fitted) and the cross-head retaining screws, then withdraw the headlamp. On Coupe models, only the surround and the relevant retaining ring need to be removed. Refitting is done in reverse order. For North American models, sealed beam units are used; start by removing the screws from the surround, swinging it forward and lifting it out. Then, take off the relevant retaining ring, withdraw the headlamp, and disconnect the wiring. If needed, remove the screws and take out the mounting frame. Refitting is also done in reverse order, and if the mounting frame was removed, check the headlamp alignment.
