In 1.6 litre DOHC petrol engines, the thermostat is in a housing on the left end of the cylinder head. Empty the cooling system, displyuge hoses and lift off the cover. Test your thermostat by putting it in boiling water. The process of refitting is reversing and cooling with the coolant. The other engines go through the same processes.
