How to replace the thermostat on 1992 Audi 80?

In four-cylinder engines the thermostat is located at the base of the water pump and in a five-cylinder the thermostat is located at the rear of the water pump. Discharge the cooling, take off the thermostat cover, and test the thermostat in hot water. Installation Correctly replace when defective, clean the housing and correctly install the thermostat then refill the cooling system.
