- Q: How to remove and refit the intake manifold or throttle valve assembly on 1987 Audi 4000?A: Remove the carburettor or throttle valve assembly as applicable. For carburettor models, disconnect and plug the coolant and vacuum hoses, and disconnect the preheater wiring. Unbolt the intake manifold from the cylinder head and exhaust manifold, remove the gasket, and refit with clean mating faces and new gaskets. Top up the cooling system if needed.
